Brooke Atwood | Savannah, Georgia
Brooke Atwood received her degree in business at the University of Mississippi and her design degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She grew up sewing with her grandmother and riding horses with her rodeo cowboy father. Although Brooke was raised in the south, she would never call herself a “proper southern girl,” choosing instead to be influenced by abstract art and independent music.
After receiving her degree she opened her own boutique in Mississippi. In 2012 – after selling her acclaimed boutique to pursue her design dream – Brooke launched her namesake brand with a collection of leather tees.
It’s such an honor to be apart of NFW this year! As a southern designer I truly support and admire what Nashville has accomplished for a southern community and I am honored to be able to present my collection here. The talent that emanates throughout Nashville, from the music and fashion to all of it’s great people, it’s exciting and inspiring. It’s what makes Nashville one of my most loved cities!

Within design you will notice her discerning fashion eye, whether it organically alters an outfit or creates an enigmatic confidence, it artfully exudes a modern relevance while retaining a timeless feel.

Bass is a Tennessee native who moved to New York to study fashion and costume design at the Fashion Institute of Technology after completing her design studies at Middle Tennessee State University.
The brand is stretched all over the world, but there is something to be said about coming home. I was thrilled to have been awarded the first Nashville Fashion Forward Fund award, and I used it to expand my knowledge of international fashion trade shows. I traveled to the Bread & Butter Show in Berlin, Germany. And, while visiting Berlin I was so inspired that I decided to make the move from New York two years ago. My time in Berlin has given me an incredible mix of freedom and focus, where I can truly design from my authentic self. And, while I am now back in New York full time to focus on brand expansion, living in Berlin opened a world of possibilities for me both personally and professionally. #WHYNFW

I have such a big heart and deep admiration for the entire fashion community in Nashville, which has welcomed me with open arms and presented so many collaborative opportunities. I am over the moon to have my work showcased at NFW. #WHYNFW
